December 2024.
As of 12/21, all our pups have homes. Thank you for looking at our site!
We are using Parvo virus protocols to protect the pups. What that means is, when you visit, you need to have avoided any place where an unvaccinated dog might have been. We then have you either leave your shoes at the door or, when everybody is moved to the barn, we do an antibiotic shoe dip tray. It's a total PITA but with fatality rate around 90% in puppies, we feel confident these guys are worth the extra work.
A last thing about pick order, when you get any Golden retriever puppy, regardless of pick order, you are getting a magical addition to your life. It's A listers all the way and there are no second-rate puppies.
Both parents have health certifications and have had their DNA analyzed for the genetic defects that can be identified at this time. Please contact us for more information or if you are interested. Chris is 360-333-1240, Teri is 360-391-1032.

An additional less happy update. Abbey, our matriarch, left her earthly pack this fall. She was very much loved and will always be missed. On that note, since I suck at updating this site, I will catch up a little. Our original singing dog Jin, did not wake up one September morning in 2019. It was pretty much that simple, we had him as long as we were going to, time for which we will always be thankful. Jin moved on to somewhere else where he was needed and on that Sunday morning, he was no longer ours. Our hearts were broken. The loss of the warmth and kindness of Jin's most wonderful soul was devastating. We know that it's always a count down with our goldens but we all hope for that count to go on for a very long time. Jin's didn't and he died at ten years old on September ninth, 2019. We will miss him always.
In one of those poetically symmetrical occurrences, a puppy was born in Boise Idaho on September tenth, 2019. We didn't know that until later and I'm sure it's nothing but coincidence but that timing is fun to think about. That puppy Sam, is now deeply embedded in our hearts and is a constant companion to me (Chris). Sam flies with me and has well over ten thousand miles worth of road trips under his belt! Sam did have a rough go in 2020. He was napping in the sun near where I was working just outside the barn and was missed by someone in their car. Sam's pelvis was broken in two and the next few months were full on miserable for our young friend but in the end, he has recovered fully and without an x-ray machine, you would never know. Sam is a delight and is appreciated every single day.
In 2020 a litter of puppies from Eddy and Fen (a Lily/Jin offspring) produced Mae. She was the runt and a take-no-prisoners-of-the-heart adorable wonder, now a permanent resident. She is way less trusting of anybody who hasn't positively identified themselves as her people but once you are in, she is delightfully yours. Her total trust in us reminds me every day what an honor it is to be s steward of these guys.

"The Guardians" guard our souls. There is truly nothing in life better than being appreciated by a golden and, of course, being allowed to offer some appreciation right back. Reciprocity is where it's at with these guys, it's love and be loved but even that is never conditional. Goldens never, ever have a bad day and when you do, you won't find a better listener or more sympathetic ear (partly because they are very large ears..). Come on up to the farm and get some puppy therapy!!

On April 27, Puppy number eight was born about ten hours after her siblings. The stork must have hit some severe turbulence on that last flight and she was having a rough go. I really didn't think she was going to pull through. Number Eight was completely comatose and only barely breathing. For hours I tried warm, wet rag rubs, dry rubs, stern talks and some very sincere requests and nothing was working. It was so bad that I was sure she was slipping away and was basically trying one last time to revive her. That was when I got some movement! It was almost imperceptible but it wasn't just hope, it had really happened, she had moved her head! With nothing to lose, I got out the oxygen bottle that I keep for high altitude flying. Fortunately the mask fit (her whole head) and I'll be damned if she didn't start wiggling a little. from there I started periodically pouring large quantities of warm sugar water all over her and me, some of which actually got into her tummy. When she wasn't getting sugar coated, I kept her on micro wave oven warmed towels into which I slipped a zip lock baggy, the puppy and and the oxygen tube.
Micro waving the towels. This works and I came by it out of necessity. Since the ICU doubles as the laundry room, I had started by warming the towels in the dryer, a seemingly reasonable thing to do. Unfortunately, we have a new and very proud dryer and every time it finishes on it's own, it plays a virtual symphony for a victory dance. A long one. Whoever wrote and programmed that into the machine had some free time on their hands and may have been a little malicious at heart. It was driving me nuts. I could live with the micro wave's humble "ding".
Number eight is vocal and vigorous and found a wonderful new life with a loving family.
